Thanks for taking the time to check out Shooting The Video. What is Shooting The Video? Glad you asked.

To start with, my name is Steve Sosa and I obtained a degree in Video & Audio Production (Media Communication) in 2000. Besides the normal college track, I was also in the advanced track, became an editing TA, taught video and multimedia classes, started a business, made some money, worked my butt off, and now I’m finally slowing down to smell the roses. Videography was and still is my passion. I love creating all types of video and specialize in personal videography.

Personal videography? Nobody goes to school to specialize in that! I know…and I was laughed at in college when I said I wanted to shoot wedding videos (everyone else seemed to want to “make a movie” or “work for the local TV station”). While in college though I shot and edited two weddings with great reviews (and very little money). Upon graduation, I started a business specializing in Wedding Videography…drumroll please…called Shooting The Video.

STV, in my humble opinion, was a great success. My first wedding earned $150 and my most recent wedding brought over $3000. But again - it was never about the money. I loved creating work that people responded to with laughter, smiles, and even a few tears (although none of the grooms or fathers would ever admit that). It was also very satisfying to create something that you know will be cherished for many years and generations to come.

That brings us to today. Today I’m an instructor, a father, and multimedia geek. I still play around with video and multimedia at work, home, and in class. I also always get asked, “What camcorder should I buy” on a regular basis as well. This site helps answer some of those questions. I’ll try to post information about products that I would suggest to others in the same roles I have been in (self-employed, teachers, media geeks, fathers, etc.).

Again, thanks for checking out my blog. I hope that you find here to help you in your media creation!
